Program Details

June 8-August 7, 2020

Open Doors Dance Festival is an intensive summer program in the heart of the Midwest in Iowa's Cultural Corridor, Iowa City/Coralville. With four full weeks of classes and performances plus two weeks of specialized ballet intensives and two weeks of tap programming, Open Doors gives students an opportunity to study and perform with some of the world's most prolific dance professionals.

Students will have the opportunity to attend classes in modern, ballet, pointe, contemporary, improvisation, choreography, repertory, variations, musical theatre, conditioning and pilates.

Open Doors Dance Festival - Ballet Weeks

Week 1: June 8-12 | Week 2: June 15-19

9 am-4 pm (students bring their lunch)

Tuition: $395/week

Open Doors Ballet Weeks are for ages 11+ and/or ballet levels 6+ and will focus on ballet and pointe.  

OPEN DOORS DANCE FESTIVAL - youth BALLET WEEKs

Week 1: June 8-12 | Week 2: June 15-19

9 am-2 pm (students bring their lunch)

Tuition: $295/week

Open Doors Youth Ballet Weeks are for ages 9+ and/or ballet levels 4+.


Open Doors Dance Festival

Open Doors Dance Festival is for dancers that want to experience a professional, intimate dance workshop. Participants will learn from elite soloists from some of the best dance companies in the world, as well as some of the best choreographers in the field. Each day will consist of Ballet and Modern Classes along with evening repertoire. This program is intended for the intermediate/advanced professional dancer (ages 11+ with modern experience and extensive ballet experience required. Completion of Nolte Academy Ballet 5 is recommended.). Performance Showcase is August 9, 2019.

Youth Open Doors Dance Festival

Week 1: July 13-17 | Week 2: July 20-24

Week 3: July 27-31 | Week 4: Aug 3-7

Tuition: $295/week

9 am-2 pm (students bring their lunch)

Participants will learn from elite soloists from some of the best dance companies in the world, as well as some of the best choreographers in the field. Each day will consist of Ballet and Modern Classes. This program is intended for the intermediate dancer (ages 9+ with ballet experience required. Completion of Nolte Academy Ballet 3 is recommended).

Students will have the opportunity to perform in a variety of venues throughout the Iowa City area during the festival. Students will also have the opportunity to attend performances by renowned dance companies.
